Life is short. I know that sounds cliché but it’s true. And every year, the days and months pass by so quickly it seems impossible that another year will soon be coming to an end.
As time seemingly speeds up, it’s important to learn how to slow down the special moments in your life. You may not even realize when these memorable events are happening but they occur every day. Whether you’re eating a wonderful meal at your favorite hole-in-the-wall restaurant, watching a movie curled up on the couch with your sweetie or enjoying a brisk walk with a friend, these are the moments that make you feel really good. As different as they are, they all have a common thread: these are the moments when you are surrounding yourself with love.
Surrounding yourself with love is an integral part of a happy life. You know people who are brilliant at doing this and others who just came seem to get it right. Some people don’t want to share their love because they need to keep it all to themselves. They are your “friends” who never ask how you’re doing because they are too busy worrying about themselves or talking badly about someone else. They often love “things” more than people and will only be nice if they want something from you. They live their lives understanding only one kind of love: self-love.
Conversely, when you surround yourself with good people, life becomes easy. There is no drama. You simply care about them as they care about you. There is no back-stabbing, no gossip, no negativity. You reach out to each other, cheer each other on, laugh at each other’s jokes and grieve together during times of sorrow. You surround each other with love.
Every day is a new beginning. You CAN make a conscious effort to surround yourself with love. Why not start today?
May 2013 bring you happiness, health & abundant love,
Molly
Happy New Year! What a way to start it off…thanks for reminding us to take a moment in our day to show love to our friends and family.
Thanks Cyndi Russell. Wishing you the best year ever in 2013!!
Happy New Year! Such a great reminder. I read a scripture this morning that reiterated the same point; Philippians 2:3-4, Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.
Thanks for sharing Michelle. Hope you have a very Happy New Year!
